Welcome to st colman's high and sixth form college

Welcome to St Colman’s High & Sixth Form College. For 60 years, we have proudly served the Ballynahinch community and surrounding areas, providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for students of all abilities and backgrounds. At St Colman’s, we are committed to a child-centered approach where every student is valued and encouraged to grow in confidence, curiosity, and character.

Our school is a place where strong relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We recognisenize that student success is built on a foundation of trust, respect, and collaboration between staff, students, and parents. Together, we create a supportive community that enables each child to flourish, both academically and personally. Our motto, Facta Non Verba—Deeds Not Words—captures our commitment to action, encouraging students to strive for excellence and integrity in all they do.

We are proud to be a faith-based school that warmly welcomes students of all faiths and none. Guided by our values of Achievement, Respect, Kindness, Creativity, and Community, we believe that these principles unite us as we work together to develop young people who are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the future.

St Colman’s offers a broad and balanced curriculum designed to inspire and challenge. We cater to a wide range of interests and talents, from the sciences and humanities to the arts and specialist trades. Our successful Sixth Form allows students to continue their studies within a familiar, supportive setting, and our pupils’ consistently strong academic success at GCSE and A Level is a reflection of our dedicated teaching and support staff, who bring passion, skill, and care to their work every day.

Our outstanding Pastoral Care and strong Special Educational Needs provision ensure that every student has the support they need to thrive. At St Colman’s, students know they are respected, valued, and supported as they navigate their personal and academic journeys. Our skilled support staff and SEN specialists work closely with students and families, fostering an inclusive environment where each child can build confidence and succeed.

I am incredibly proud of the community we have built at St Colman’s. Each member of our teaching and support staff is dedicated to nurturing every student’s potential and helping them grow into compassionate, resilient, and capable individuals. We are excited to welcome you to view our Website which aims to give you a snapshot of how we live out our values and our commitment to the highest standards of education and care.
